Hey, I'm Henry, and I'm the COO here at Safewill. I joined in May 2024 to help scale the business.

I started my career in banking, finance and strategy, before quickly realising I wanted to get my hands dirty and moved to startups and scale ups. I've spent the last 10+ years in a mix of earlier stage and scale up stage businesses focused on tech. My first taste of start up was joining Uber in Australia fairly early on - that gave me the chance to work on a business that was growing like crazy in different roles and countries. From there I moved to CloudKitchen to head up their SaaS business for ANZ and Japan. I then tried super early stage and going from 0 to 1, which had mixed results, before joining Safewill in 2024. 

Start ups are hard, everyday is a new challenge often filled with ambiguity - I look for people who get excited by this and can find ways to push through a challenge with a healthy dose of urgency.

I believe you should constantly be hiring people that are going to lift your whole team up. I hire people that make me nervous about how much I’m going to need to lift my game to be their manager. My style is then to give them clarity of our strategy and focus, and support them as they get after it.

Family is huge for me. My son Bas is almost two and when I’m not working I’m spending time with the him and our dog Sizzle.
